Farewell to F

Today, we said goodbye to F.

As most of you know, he has been battling cancer for over a year. We owe his survival and quality of life to alternative treatment with artemisinin and Chinese herbs, and a modified diet. However, over the past few days, we noticed a general decline in his condition, and last night, he lost a lot of blood due to disruption of blood vessels by the tumor. He had also stopped showing any interest in his food, which was very unusual for him. We had to make a very difficult decision, but one that we felt would bring him the peace that he needed.

There is a huge hole in our family, one that can never be filled. Yet we are grateful for the time we shared with him, and the love that he gave us. Almost thirteen years of memories...

Farewell, F, and may you walk in peace.

There's a grand and glorious place where we'll meet Him face to face
In a happy land beyond the starry blue

Across the bridge, there's no more sorrow
Across the bridge, theres' no more pain
The Sun will shine across the river
And you'll never be unhappy again

(Jim Reeves, Across the Bridge)

Ah, I just read this. :-( Sending thoughts and sympathy to you all...knowing how it feels to lose a dog who's place can never be filled again. LOVE the pics, especially with M. as a little baby. :-)
